You’d think that after nearly 30 years of doing the same thing, we’d be bored.
Nope. Not even close.
We Love What We Do
We get to help real people solve real planning and procurement problems so that those they serve get the solutions they need.
We See a Better Way
Planning for technology and services procurements should be more than monster spreadsheets, endless meetings, and that nagging feeling that this won’t end well.
We Are Excited About the Future
We pioneered collaborative planning for complex procurements in 1997. And now our clients and we are taking this concept to a whole new level.
Our Story
When we started in late 1996, our idea was to use the web to streamline and automate the RFP process for administrative software. From gathering requirements to collecting, analyzing and reusing vendor responses, we invented some groundbreaking approaches and the technologies to support them. We called our new product “WebRFP.com”, and we still have the domain, www.webrfp.com.
A couple of years later, the CIO of one of our client institutions pulled me aside and said, “I know you believe that the problem you help us solve is the difficult RFP process. And you do a great job at that. But, the real problem you solve for us is the problem of alignment. With your collaboration tools and advising support, we were able to develop vision and foster alignment across the full spectrum of the people involved in this massive project. This resulted in an understanding of the ‘why’ and a shared commitment to succeed, and it made my team’s job so much easier.”
Inspired, we changed the name of our company and renamed our toolset “DecisionDirector”. Of course, we still help our clients to streamline and automate the RFP process, but what they value the most is the growth and success that stems from the alignment, transparency, and confidence they achieve when we are involved.
That NEVER gets old.
Dan Miller, Founder
Our Position, Policies, and Practices
We are 100% vendor neutral.
We have no stake in, or benefit in anyway from, a selection outcome.
We never reveal vendor response data without permission from the vendor.
We do not claim ownership of any client, consultant, or vendor data entered into DecisionDirector.
We never sell or otherwise distribute any of the data entered into DecisionDirector.
We have many consulting partners who have integrated DecisionDirector into their planning and selection methodologies, and their baseline requirements and other information into the DecisionDirector database.
Clients are free to use our baseline library or that of their chosen consultant, or a combination of both.
Vendors may establish baseline requirements of their own in DecisionDirector, for clients and prospects that wish to start with those.
We do whatever we can to help clients, consultants, and vendors be successful in using and benefiting from DecisionDirector, but we never provide unfair advantage or share inside information about the projects we support.
We hold all conversations in full confidence and do not discuss or share sensitive or competitive information.
We are committed to creating and supporting the best practices that lead to the best possible outcomes, and therefore are always open to constructive criticisms and suggestions.

As a husband of nearly 40 years and a father of six, with a few grandchildren here and there, this passion has come in handy at home, too.
